Motivating Me

Just saw this clip and I was moved.  Thought you might be too.  Take a minute and view it.  I was especially touched at the end when the young students so naturally hug this man and show true emotion (which I don't think is pity).  Finish strong.

Kim, I agree, this was terrible! What is also bad is that his aides should/could have pulled it and didn't. I believe O'Bama is a good leader and this is a very good example of prejudices that are "socially acceptable" or rattle out of our mouth without care for others. I don't believe that he "meant" to b hurtful by his words (IGNORANCE) but this just shows how our society utters words without thought or consideration and others go along with it rather than call people out. Prejudices of all sorts still exist. How many times do you see on TV clickers the terms "BB" and "WBB" This is offensive to me as it assumes that basketball is a man's sport and then there is another sport....women's basketball (as if they are two different games, basketball and women's basketball). How about MBB and WBB? or how about when they refer to college women as "girls" yet even HS boys are referred to as MEN! hs= boys and girs; college= men and women. I don't think stations mean to be offensive. This is why we must use our energy not in anger but in making these people aware that they are offensive and pray that they will care!

You go, girl! Love your perspective. We especially need to teach our kids to be sensitive to this stuff. Thx for sharing.

I can't see this video from here any longer, can you post a site where I can still view it? Also - I was glad to hear that Chicago is one of our nation's most accessible cities - I did not know that! Thanks.
